The Connected Learning for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CL4STEM) Project Impact Grant has officially taken off in Nigeria!
On 30th September and 6th–9th October 2025, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL) hosted a stakeholders’ briefing and orientation for selected teacher educators and students, marking the start of this scaling consolidation phase.
IBBUL proudly leads this global consortium, partnering with Open University Tanzania, Samtse College of Education (Bhutan), and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (India), with support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada, under the Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, Prof. Mohammed Salihu Niworu highlighted IBBUL’s recognition as a nodal institution for this initiative, applauding the team’s leadership, professionalism, and resilience through earlier phases (2021–2024).
What this new phase brings:
Mainstreaming CL4STEM curriculum into pre-service and in-service teacher training.
Strengthening digital teaching skills and inclusive STEM pedagogy.
Establishing virtual communities of practice to mentor pre-service teachers during teaching practice.
Deepening collaborations with Niger State Teachers’ Professional Development Institute to train master trainers and cascade innovations statewide.
Top university officials, project leads, and international partners reaffirmed their support and commitment to driving educational innovation and amplifying impact in this phase.
This milestone reflects how strategic partnerships and local leadership can transform STEM education for inclusive, future-ready learning in Nigeria and beyond.
