As part of efforts to sustain the collaboration between the Connected Learning for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CL4STEM) Project in Nigeria and the Niger State Teachers Professional Development Institute (NSTPDI), the CL4STEM Team on Friday 10th of October 2025 met with the NSTPDI and other educational stakeholders in Niger State to inform them on the CL4STEM Impact Grant Project and proposed activities and timelines for the Project implementation at the Institute.

The CL4STEM Team Lead- Prof. Tajordeen Mustapha gave an overview of CL4STEM collaboration with the NSTPDI which started from the scaling phase of the Project in Niger State. The collaboration has been positive as it ultimately led to the adoption and mainstreaming CL4STEM curriculum into in-service teachers training programme of the NSTPDI. The joint successful training of the facilitators and master trainers on CL4STEM curriculum by the Institute and CL4STEM Team is a testament of an impactful collaboration, he said. Prof Tajordeen further informed that the new grant- CL4STEM Impact Grant Project is aimed at consolidating the mainstreaming of CL4STEM curriculum into IBBUL pre-service teachers training and NSTPDI in-service teachers training. He gave an outline of the proposed capacity building workshop for master trainers at the Institute which is part of the activities slated for the new grant.
Earlier, while giving welcome address/opening remarks, the Acting Executive Director of NSTPDI- Dr. Hussaini Usman assured the CL4STEM Team of maximum support and cooperation, stating that we have a good working precedent in collaboration with the Team including the signed MoU which states our individual organisation roles and responsibilities. He said this new project at the Institute will be better delivered since we will be building on the successes and challenges of the previous collaboration.
In their separate goodwill message, the Director General, Schools and Education Reforms, Niger State- Hajiya Maimuna Mohammed; Mal. Hassan Mohammed- Director, Schools and Educational Services and Mal. Abdulmalik S. Nungbe- Director, Planing, Research and Statistics both of Niger State Ministry of Basic & Secondary Education; Mal. Adamu S. Yabagi- Ag. Director, Quality Assurance, NSTPDI; and Dr. Abubakar Mohammed Ndanusa-Ag. Director, Inservice Programme, NSTPDI, commend the new project and the Team and pledged their continued support and commitment for maximum delivery of the project activities.
